SUMMARY:MCH3 #847 - MARATHONG
DESCRIPTION:Marathong Water Stop \nHey\, Wankers! It’s here! The 20th Rock ‘N’ Roll Marathong waterstop. Time to join MCH3 as we celebrate racist behavior in our fair city. If you haven’t yet said you’re coming\, no problem.  Just show up anyway. All you need to know follows. \nMCH3 WATER STOP – SATURDAY\, APRIL 27 \nHelpful files you can find on the Yahoo Group site under “Files”\n(Email flush_pe (at) yahoo.com if you want them sent to your email address): \n\n2019 Directions to Riverside Drive Entrance\n’19 NSH Water Station – THIS IS THE PARKING PASS\n\nWorker Arrival Times  \n 7:30 – 8 a.m. – Early set up crew and anyone who wants to be able to drive into the park. \nWe need at least 5-6 people for set up. Please reply to let us know if you can come early. (Mimosa drinking follows set up!) \nAlso\, anyone who wants to drive into the park must arrive by 8:00 because Shelby Park absolutely closes to cars by 8 a.m. \nPLEASE USE THE RIVERSIDE DRIVE ENTRANCE AND DISPLAY THE 2019 PARKING PASS. Pass is under “Files” on the Yahoo group page: https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/mchash/files/2019%20Water%20Stop%20Files/ \nNote: If you enter through a different park entrance\, please replace any sawhorses you move\, be polite and respectful to park police\, etc. They’re instructed to close the park until after the Marathon and usually don’t understand where we are going and why. Just explain and be nice. \nAlso: If you drive in\, be aware you can’t drive out (for runner safety) until things start to wind down – hopefully around 2 p.m. (If that’s going to be a problem for you\, plan ahead: park outside the park and walk or bike in.) \n After 8 a.m. – Afte 8 a.m.\, park outside the park and walk or bike in. If parking outside the Riverside entrance\, follow the road adjacent to the railroad tracks down the hill. If parking outside the Shelby Avenue entrance near the dog park\, go down the hill and past the ball fields and we’ll be set up on the park road between the junior ball fields and the railroad trestle near the boat ramp. (Note: There is another water stop closer to the Shelby Avenue entrance\, so if you don’t recognize anyone\, keep walking toward the river.) \nThe first runner will arrive about 9:15 and we will be busiest from about 10:15 a.m. to noon or 12:30\, so later arrivals still welcome! \nProvisions/What to Bring \nWe provide hash beverages for the runners\, but YOU are responsible for your own hydration. Remember to be discreet with those beverages since we’re in a Metro park (i.e.\, bring a vessel). We’ll provide lunch\, but please bring any snacks or breakfast foods you’d like to have or share. \nPlease also consider bringing food to give out to the runners\, such as fruit (oranges and bananas are popular)\, salty snacks\, or other things that are easy to cut up like cereal or granola bars. By mile 23 these racists need all the support we can give them. \nYou may also want to bring a chair and sunscreen. The weather looks to be a little warm this year for marathoners – mid 70s. If you have a table or pop-up you want to bring and you’re arriving early\, those are always helpful. \nPlaying well with others… We may have some non-hasher volunteers\, particularly since our numbers are down this year. Be nice y’all. \nWHERE AM I GOING? AND HOW DO I GET THERE? \nOur water stop is #16 and it is located close to the 23-mile mark in Shelby Park\, near the railroad trestle in the southeast corner of the park beside the boat launch ramp. See directions below or refer to the files “2019 Directions to Riverside Drive Entrance” on the Yahoo Group page under “Files.” \nDirections to Riverside Dr. Entrance: \n\nFrom I-24\, take Spring St./Ellington Pkwy. exit #47A\nThe exit ramp curves right – DO NOT GET ON ELLINGTON PARKWAY\nStay in the left lane\, to the intersection of James Robertson Pkwy./Main St. and 5th St./Spring St. (the roads change names at this intersection)\nTurn left on Main St. and go approx. 1.3 miles\, continuing as it becomes Gallatin Rd.\nTurn right on Eastland Ave. and go approx. 1.3 miles to Riverside Dr.\nTurn right on Riverside Dr. and go approx. 0.6 miles to Huntleigh Dr./Lillian Dr.\nTurn right to approach the back entrance to the park\n\n(False Trail Warning: Remember\, there is another water stop inside Shelby Park\, located between the Vinny Links golf course and the ball fields. That’s not our water stop … we’re near the trestle and the boat ramp in the far southeast corner of the park.) \nMCH3 POST-RACIST HASH \n\nWhere: Southern Grist East Nashville Taproom\, 1201 Porter Rd.\, Nashville\, TN 37206\nHare: Butt Quack\nWhen: Meet after water stop or by 3 p.m. Look for tired racist wankers. This is a pay-your-own-way pub crawl hash\, so bring money.
