Sorry for the LONG email but it has all the info you need about the water stop and trail\, so please read ON ON to the end. \nMCH3 MARATHON WATER STOP – SATURDAY\, APRIL 30 \nHelpful files you can find on the Yahoo Group site under “Files”:\n– Directions to Riverside Dr. Entrance\n– Finding the MCH3 Water Stop in Shelby Park\n– 2016 Marathon Water Stop Parking Pass \nWORKER ARRIVAL TIMES: \n7:15 a.m. – Early set-up crew arrives. We need 5-6 people\, so if you can come early to help set up\, please reply to this email. \nBefore 8 a.m. – Anyone who wants to drive (rather than walk) into the park should arrive. We’ve been told no more cars can enter after 8 a.m. PLEASE USE THE RIVERSIDE DRIVE ENTRANCE\, and download the 2016 parking pass from the Yahoo group page. \nIf you make it into the park through a different entrance\, remember to replace any sawhorses you move\, be polite and respectful to the park police\, etc. They’re instructed to close the park until after the Marathon and have trouble (usually) understanding where we are going and why. Just explain and be nice. \nRemember that if you do drive in\, you can’t drive out of the park (for runner safety) until things start to wind down around 2 p.m. If that’s a problem for you\, park outside of the park and walk in. \nLate arrivals – If you arrive after 8 a.m.\, expect to park outside of the park and walk in (you are a hasher\, you know). Or bike in! If you park outside the Riverside entrance\, follow the road adjacent to the railroad tracks down the hill. If you park outside the Shelby Avenue entrance\, go down the hill and past the ball fields and we’ll be set up on the park road between the junior ball fields and the railroad trestle near the boat ramp. (Note: There is another water stop closer to the Shelby Avenue entrance\, so if you don’t recognize anyone\, keep walking.) \nThe first runner will arrive about 9:15. Note that we will be busiest from about 10:15 to 12:30\, so late arrivals are still welcomed! \nPROVISIONS/WHAT TO BRING: \nWe provide hash beverages for the runners\, but YOU are responsible for your own hydration. Remember to  bring a vessel. \nWe’ll have a grill or two and the hash will provide hot dogs\, buns and condiments for volunteers. Please bring chips or whatever snacks will need to get you through 2 p.m. or so. \nPlease also consider bringing food to give out to the runners\, such as fruit (oranges and bananas are popular)\, salty snacks\, or other things that are easy to cut up like cereal or granola bars. Except for the elites\, the runners really need all the support we can give them by the time they reach us. \nYou may also want to bring a chair\, sunscreen or rain jacket depending on the weather. We work rain or shine. Some pop-ups would be helpful if any of you early arrivals want to bring them. DESCRIPTION:MCH3 is official sponsor of one of the Country Music Marathon’s waterstops\, located at approximately mile 23 in Shelby Park. This is the one Saturday of the year we all get up and meet early to provide hydration and encouragement to racist wanks and we need you. \nWe need enough volunteers to have our own stop! You do NOT need to register online through the Sports Council but you DO need to let us know if you can work this year. If you’ve worked before just let Flush know you’re going to be there. \nIf you haven’t worked before then we need your: \nNerd Name\nE-mail address\nPhone Number\nAddress\, City\, Zip and\nT-Shirt Size \nIf you’ve never done this before\, it’s fun\, it’s rewarding and yes there will be sacred nectar. \nMCH3 MARATHON WATER STOP – SATURDAY\, APRIL 25 \nWORKER ARRIVAL TIMES: \n7 a.m. – Early set-up crew needs to arrive. We need 5-6 people\, so if you can come early to help set up\, please reply to this email. \nBy 8 a.m. – Anyone who wants to drive (rather than walk) into the park should arrive. We’ve been told no more cars can enter after 8:00 a.m. PLEASE USE THE RIVERSIDE DRIVE ENTRANCE. \nIf you do make it into the park through another entrance\, remember to replace any sawhorses you move\, be polite and respectful to the park police\, etc. They’re instructed to close the park until after the Marathon and have trouble (usually) understanding where we are going and why. Just explain and be nice. \nRemember that if you do drive in\, you can’t drive out of the park (for runner safety) until things start to wind down around 1:30 or 2:00 p.m. If that’s a problem for you\, park outside of the park and walk in. \nLate arrivals – If you arrive after 8 a.m.\, expect to park outside of the park and walk in (you are a hasher\, you know). If you park outside the Riverside entrance\, follow the road adjacent to the railroad tracks down the hill. If you park outside the Shelby Avenue entrance\, go down the hill and past the ball fields and we’ll be set up on the park road between the junior ball fields and the railroad trestle. \nNote that we will be busiest from about 10:15 to 12:30\, so late arrivals will still be welcomed! \nPROVISIONS \nWe provide hash beverages for the runners\, but YOU are responsible for your own hydration. Bring a vessel for your own use. \nWe’ll have a grill or two and the hash will provide hot dogs\, buns and condiments for volunteers. Please bring chips or whatever snacks will need to get you through 2 p.m. or so. \nPlease also consider bringing food to give out to the runners\, such as fruit (oranges and bananas are popular)\, salty snacks\, or other things that are easy to cut up like cereal or granola bars. Except for the elites\, the runners really need all the support we can give them by the time they get to us at mile 23. \nYou may also want to bring a chair\, sunscreen or rain jacket depending on the weather. We work rain or shine. \nLOCATION & DIRECTIONS\nOur water stop is at mile 23 in Shelby Park\, near the railroad trestle at the boat ramp. It’s a PDF posted under “Files” called “2015 Directions to Riverside Dr Entrance.” \nDirections to Riverside Dr Entrance:\n•From I-24\, take Spring St/Ellington Pkwy exit ‪#‎47A‬\n•The exit ramp curves right – DO NOT GET ON ELLINGTON PARKWAY\n•Stay in the left lane\, to the intersection of James Robertson Pkwy/Main St and 5th St/Spring St (the roads change names at this intersection)\n•Turn left on Main St and go approx. 1.3 miles\, continuing as it becomes Gallatin Rd\n•Turn right on Eastland Ave and go approx. 1.3 miles to Riverside Dr\n•Turn right on Riverside Dr and go approx. 0.6 miles to Huntleigh Dr/Lillian Dr\n•Turn right to approach the back entrance to the park \n(False Trail Warning: Remember\, there is another water stop inside Shelby Park\, located between the Vinnylinks golf course and the ball fields.
